As I listen to jazz music — that’s right! Jazz music. Miles Davis. John Coltrane. The Bad Plus. Jamie Cullum. The driving force behind my comfort zone. My creativity jumps off each tempo. Each staccato of notes flowing in the air like mad butterflies scared off by an inquisitive “pooch”. A “mad hatter” of melodies that only stop when the instrument says “stop.”

Yeah. That’s what I listen to.

When I read, I listen to various music, all depending on mood at the time. At first, I was listening to soundtracks and aggressive classical renditions of music of yesteryear. Then, when I realized that you could only listen to so many versions of concertos and copies of composers, I started listening to EDM, dubstep, and “future bass.”

What was weirder was I was reading epic fantasy books while listening to the “tub-thumping” in my ear. It was like watching a train wreck with Benny Hill music playing in the background. After a while, it’s not that the book made sense. The concept didn’t make sense. I just needed sound — something to distract my mind while I had to complete the chapters at hand.

After my fourth fantasy book, I have had enough of fantasy. I don’t care if it is epic, paranormal, urban, litRPG, harem, reverse harem, paranormal reverse urban litRPG harem romance; I JUST CAN’T HANDLE IT ANYMORE!!!

I need a break.

I had mentioned in this post that I had a credit to Audible, Amazon’s audiobook service, only because I fucked up when trying to get a book I won for free and absent-mindedly signed up for a paid service. Rather than go through the “rigamaroo” of fixing the extra credit, I just decided to go ahead and buy a book. I had a lot of choices, mostly fucking litRPG fantasy titles, again.

No, I’m not going down that road again. I need something different, and more of my mood. My style.

So, I turned to Chuck Palahniuk and tried to find the most vile thing that he wrote. Then, I went with the second option.

After lunch, I think I will listen to his book called “Haunted,” and if it is anything that what someone has stated, it makes Stephen King look like Nancy Drew.

Perfect. The only thing that sucks about all of this is that I was thinking of getting “Turtles All The Way Down” by John Green, because I have wanted to read that for a while, but alas, my perverted, disgusting side prevailed.

Oh well.

ON WITH THE SHOW!!!
